Diving Deeper into the Seaweed Industry

We have some exciting news! The Pacific Seaweed Growers Association has made the decision to rename our organization to better reflect our goals for the seaweed industry and those within it. So, we would like to officially welcome you to the Pacific Seaweed Industry Association! 

While the change in name is not overly dramatic, we believe that it encompasses our goal of inclusivity in the seaweed industry. While we are still committed to supporting seaweed growers and farmers, we also aim to provide resources and relevant content to those looking to enter the industry in different ways, from processors to technology innovators, and beyond. It is important to us to be an active participant in the growth of the Blue Economy and help create meaningful jobs along the supply chain of seaweed, in BC and beyond.

Our team at the Pacific Seaweed Industry Association (PSIA) is looking forward to continuing to support the seaweed industry, which is set to grow rapidly as the global demand for seaweed increases at an average of 9% each year. We continue to passionately work towards our goals of providing relevant and informative resources for our members, organizing training opportunities, fostering connections throughout the sector, and more. We have established many professional and insightful relationships throughout our first year in operation and we are anticipating an eventful and thriving year ahead for the seaweed industry!
